September bass highlights include releases from Zed's Dead, Snails, Odesza, Toadface, Psymbionic, Hekler, AC Slater, FineArt, L Plus, Chuurch and more!

September means fall is here, but it doesn't mean the heat is letting up when it comes to the top bass music tracks of the month. We narrow down the top 15 bass heaters from the dancefloor bangers to the experimental mindbenders.

1) ZED’S DEAD X SNAILS – ‘MAGNETS’ (FEAT. AKYLLA) [DEADBEATS/SLUGS]

"Magnets" is a collaboration between Zeds Dead and Snails, two of Canada’s premier dubstep/bass producers. Featuring a powerful vocal performance from Akylla, Zeds Dead and Snails have forged their unique sound designs together to create a track that ebbs and flows from a triumphant vocal lead to an absolutely annihilating bass drop filled with charged up percussion.

2) ODEZSA – ‘LOYAL’ [FOREIGN FAMILY]

A year after ODEZSA’s GRAMMY nominated album A Moment Apart, the duo are back with the official release of their new single “Loyal.” The future bass track might be recognizable, since it was featured in the new Apple products launch, but longtime fans will recognize it from their live sets, where they debuted it back at Coachella 2015.

3) TOADFACE – ‘BUGS FOR BREAKFAST’ [WAKAAN]

Dayton Ohio bass producer Toadface just unleashed his new album Bugs for Breakfast on the Wakaan label. The title track soars through a marshy landscape of quirky samples amongst a warped filled wall of bass. Toadface brings a unique take on bass music across a dozen tracks that keeps your attention.

4) TRIVECTA – ‘AXIS’ [MONSTERCAT]

Trivecta returns with a captivating new single "Axis," on the Monstercat label. The simple yet uplifting lead melody beautifully complements the heart-pounding bass present throughout the entire track. The Tampa, FL based producer continues to show his range of tunes in the trance, dubstep, and drumstep worlds.

5) HEKLER – ‘FREQUENCY JAMMER’ [NEVER SAY DIE]

Las Vegas based producer Hekler drops the bass crushing tune “Frequency Jammer” on the Never Say Die imprint and it’s a distorted, angry, and wild track that’s true to its name. Clocking in at only 2 and ½ minutes, the song makes a big impact, in a short timespan.

6) INF1N1TE – ‘OVERRUN’ [INF1N1TE AUDIO]

Canadian producer INF1N1TE comes correct with his latest release “Overrun.” The track builds with an eerie intro of filtered vocals before the bassline drops in and smashes. Stabbing synths layered with an ominous soundscape and heavy sub fill out a very fitting vibe for this Halloween season.

7) PSYMBIONIC – ‘HYPNOTOAD’ [GRAVITAS]

Austin, TX based producer Psymbionic continues the toad theme in our column with his track “Hypnotoad.” The track bubbles and pulsates through lasers and sci-fi samples over warm layers of bass.

8) CHUURCH + STRANGE FUTURE - ‘RABBIT HOLE’ (FT. BLAK TRASH) [PRIME]

Chuurch and Strange Future link up with Blak Trash for “Rabbit Hole,” a downtempo, experimental bass monster on Texas’ PRIME imprint. The slow, grinding tune exudes a haunting style with growling bass drops for an engaging soundscape.

9) ZED’S DEAD x DNMO – ‘WE COULD BE KINGS’ (FT. TZAR) [DEADBEATS]

More Zeds Dead music this month with their new single "We Could Be Kings," a collaboration with DNMO, the 17 year old UK producer and Deadbeats signee. The track melds Zeds Dead’s classic gritty bass driven melodies with the poppy elements of DNMO’s production, capped off with infectious vocals delivered by Tzar.

10) FINEART - ‘LIGHTER CREW’ (VIP) [MARAKI]

FineArt is the bass house alias of well known d&b producer Friction. He updates his popular “Lighter Crew” tune with a special VIP version that skips, bounces, and booms. The tune packs 100% dancefloor heat.

11) CHAMPION & AC SLATER – DIAMONDS [UKF]

The UKF imprint is back with the fourth version of their popular Bass Culture compilation. “Diamonds” from Champion and Night Bass head honcho AC Slater is a grimey bass house tune that goes hard with dirty basslines and blinged out samples.

12) PAVV & TENGU – ‘HOLDING BACK’ [SOUTHPOINT]

The reliable Southpoint label taps Pavv and Tengu to assemble top talent for a bass and UK garage inspired compilation aptly titled Pavv and Tengu Presents. The blend of styles across these twelve tracks dips from jump-up inspired bassline to neurotic breaky rollers. “Holding Back” kicks off the compilation in true UK garage style full of bounce and boom.

13) L PLUS – ‘ROCKS’ [TECHNIQUE]

Slovak producer L Plus showcases his latest single “Rocks” on Technique Recordings and it hits with old school rave vibes. The track kicks off with a sample of Stephen Hawking narrating the opening, before he lands us in a soundscape dominated by an impossibly bouncy bassline, ricocheting between modulations. Steel-gloved punches of kick and snare drive the wave of energy, while little touches of acidic synth fly the flag for those early nineties vibes.

14) KOLECTIV & MEDIKA – ‘REVOLUTIONAIRES’ [DIFFRENT MUSIC]

The hard edged D&B quartet that makes up Kolectiv & Medika deliver a four track EP of their experimental bass heavy sound. “Revolutionaries” slaps hard over gritty bass, half time beats and pitched down hip hop MC samples.

15) SKELER & YTHO – ‘LIMIT’ [LIQUID RITUAL]

Australian Wave producers Skeler & Ytho join the Liquid Ritual family with their latest single “Limit.” The track moves over industrial strength beats with a sci-fi sound design and layered Middle Eastern vocal samples. “Limit” is a haunting wave bass heater.
