Artists Can Now Submit Music Directly to Spotify For Playlist Placement

Sending your music to get playlisted on Spotify is out of Beta and now live.

The much-heralded feature that allows artists to directly submit music to Spotify editors for playlist placement is now live.

A few months ago it was announced that Spotify was democratizing their playlist submission feature, by allowing anyone to submit music to their team of editors around the world. Since the feature was put in Beta in July, according to Spotify, more than 67,000 artists and labels submitted their music their music for playlist consideration. 10,000 new artists were added.

Everyone knows that getting added to playlists is the new name of the game. The more followers the playlist has, the higher equity it brings and the more fans you will be exposed to. The more plays you get, the more money you stand to earn.

You can watch the below video on how to best get playlisted, but there are a few simple steps. Labels need to submit through the Spotify analytics platform and artists through their Spotify for Artists account. Then tag as much metadata as you can with the sound, artist, title, album name, cover art and anything else you can use to describe the track so it can help the editors put it into the right playlist if they think it is worthy.
