Chicago is losing one of its staple nightlife locations. The MID has announced that it will be closing in February 2019 as a result of expansion in the West Loop and Fulton Market District.
Co-founders/Co-owners Lucas King and Nick Karounos opened the club in 2010 and it has hosted the likes of Skrillex, Adam Beyer, Calvin Harris, Ice Cube, Green Velvet, Kaskade, Deep Dish and many others. It became a staple of the dance music nightlife scene in Chicago.
"Unfortunately, the time has come where the MID's doors will be closing on February 5, 2019. These last remaining months will be a celebration of the past and a toast to the future,” King and Karounos say in a statement.
Leading up to its closure, the club will host a slew of closing parties with yet to be named artists. Stay tuned to their socials and website for more info on that.
