Moby To Explore Dark Side Of Fame In New Book 'Then It Fell Apart,' Out Next Year

It will follow up his headline-grabbing 2016 book Porcelain.

Moby is becoming quite the prolific author as his career progresses into its later stages. He has announced he will release a new book Then It Fell Apart, which acts as the follow up to his 2016 book Porcelain, which made headlines with the tales of his debaucherous early career.

According a press release, Then It Fell Apart is a “journey into the dark heart of fame and the demons that lurk beneath the bling and bluster of the celebrity lifestyle.” It follows his life in the summer of 1999 after Play made him a superstar when he was hanging out with David Bowie, Christina Ricci, drinking bottles of vodka a day, taking ecstasy at breakfast and doing other outlandish things.

It also brings his story up to the modern with potentially stories of Trump and Putin.

“Somehow this chronicle of a long, dark night of the soul also involves funny stories involving Trump, Putin, and a truly baffling array of degenerates,” says Stephen Colbert in a statement.

The book can be pre-ordered at Rough Trade UK, Amazon or Powells. It will be released on June 11 in the US and May 2 in the UK, so then you can go get it at your local book store.
