Premiere: Anchorsong - "Ancestors" (Tru Thoughts)

Laid-back grooves brought to you by Anchorsong via Tru Thoughts

Japanese-born, UK-based producer Masaaki Yoshida (aka Anchorsong) will release his third full-length, Cohesion on Tru Thoughts this coming October 26th. It will  include 11 varied tracks all of the electronica variety set to an organic backdrop including this very special one which we are delighted to premiere.

This darling tune is titled "Ancestors" and it's been said to be inspired both by traditional Indian percussion and 1970s Bollywood soundtracks.

Here's what Anchorsong has to say about this exquisite composition:

"I performed with string players a lot over the past few years, and I was trying to figure out how to adopt live strings into my composition. Pizzicato is one of the techniques I frequently used, and it’s featured on this track prominently. The repeated short riff is part of the melody and the rhythm at the same time. I wanted to blur the border between melody and rhythm, and the subtle Indian drums in the background serves as the medium."
