Sasha’s Last Night On Earth has become a home for some of the best emerging and established progressive house and techno acts in electronic music. To celebrate the label and Amsterdam Dance Event, we asked Sasha, Heidi, Henry Saiz and BAILE to all share some of their favorite moments from the label, their favorite songs and some recommendations and more. The label is hosting a boat party this Friday, October 19 with all of the artists below, so you can get more information here.

Could you pick a track on the label that really embodies the sound of LNOE?

Probably my favorite release is one of the earlier ones, Hunter Game’s “Canyons.” I wanted to remix this for the 100th release but they lost their drive with all the parts unfortunately. This track seemed to drop at a time when we were just finding our way in terms of a “sound” for the label. It totally nailed what I wanted the label to be about. Hypnotic, beautiful melodics. It sounds incredibly powerful dropped at the right point in a set.

With the boat party just around the corner, can you give us one tip or recommendation for ADE?

I love to travel and eat the local food. One of the first places I like to head for are markets or food halls. There are amazing ones in Barcelona, Copenhagen and Lisbon but the Food Hallen in Amsterdam is up there with the best.

I love the Dutch stroopwafels too and Van Wondereren Stroopwafels is about the best. For late night eats I would highly recommend Bazar for Middle Eastern nibbles, The Butcher for lux burgers and a great spot for Japanese street food late night is TonTon club. There are three locations -- west is best!

What would you do on your Last Night On Earth?

I spend my life on the road so my last night on earth I would just want to be home with my nearest and dearest (it can be quite a rare luxury!) Boring answer I know! Either that or at Anfield watching LFC win the league! Would die a happy man after that :)

What’s your relationship like with Sasha/Last Night On Earth? Or can you remember when you and Sasha first met?

To be honest I can't remember the first time we met (it’s hard to remember these things especially when it was about 14 years ago). I think it was at my record shop Phonica.

What’s your favorite track from the label? Any special moments from when you’ve played it out?

I love the new collaboration between Sasha & my dear friend La Fleur called “Förbindelse.” I remember hearing La Fleur play it as the sun was going down at MELT festival & everything felt warm & fuzzy.

Well seeing as I'm Dutch by blood I have a special connection with that city, my advice is just to walk around, get lost and see where you end up. There are so many hidden gems. Whatever you do don't ride a bike. You'll end up in the gutter with a cracked skull haha. It's one of the most beautiful cities in Europe. One more thing, go to the cheese museum; it's heaven.

Finally, what would you do on your Last Night On Earth? I would spend my last night on earth on a beach with all of my dearest friends, dancing, laughing, telling stories, crying, and most importantly.....drinking the finest wine.

What’s your relationship like with Sasha/Last Night On Earth? Or can you remember when you and Sasha first met?

Sasha has been great to work with. We first got in touch late last year. He reached out interested to see if I had some unreleased material he could consider for LNOE, and offered a support slot for a few reFracted:live shows this past February. Shortly after that I was asked to remix his track “Singularity” & he decided to remix my track “Amae” and use it for his fabric99 mix which was a huge honor for me.

What’s your favorite track from the label? Any special moments from when you’ve played it out?

Sasha’s “Smoke Monk” release that just came out is fantastic—along with the remix by VONDA7. I’ve yet to play them out but I’m excited to add them to the set.

As someone who will be traveling from New York, which is a six-hour difference, I can highly recommend trying to get quickly adjusted to the time difference if you’re coming from far out of town. I often find a shower & nap after landing is the best way to get adjusted.

Finally, what would you do on your Last Night On Earth?

If we’re talking about some sort of end of the world scenario, I’d love to experience that from a gorgeous landscape or perhaps from a skyscraper. Although, Coney Island could actually be an interesting place to experience the apocalypse. You’re right on the Atlantic Ocean and you could ride the Ferris Wheel for a nice view!

What’s your relationship like with Sasha/Last Night On Earth? Or can you remember when you and Sasha first met?

That was probably around 9-10 years ago. Sasha was always very supportive and when we finally met in person it felt very easy and natural to get along and work together more often. He’s a very generous and kind person and, of course, a genius in what he does.

What’s your favorite track from the label? Any special moments from when you’ve played it out?

I have a lot of them and I’ve always loved the label’s stylistic line. Sasha himself has done some of the most remarkable releases on the label, and, even though it may sound a bit pretentious, I’m also really proud of my own releases on the label!

With the boat party just around the corner, can you give us one tip or recommendation for ADE?

It’s not a secret that I’m a huge cannabis lover and supporter and I have no problem at all talking openly about it, so being in the beautiful city of Amsterdam I can only recommend some of the best cannabis coffee shops out there. My favorite coffee shop is Amnesia, located very central and easy to get to and take a break in between the never-ending meetings schedule, or you can have a meeting there and make it more fun ;) Try the “Lemonana” smoothie, it's insanely good and really goes well with some nice indica strain.

Finally, what would you do on your Last Night On Earth?

Actually a nice party with all your beloved ones would be a perfect way to say goodbye.
