Point Blank Music School is taking a big step and opening a new school in China during the summer of 2019. The school will be based in Hangzhou, the creative capitol of the country and one-hour bullet train ride from Shanghai.
Point Blank has partnered with Chinese internet company NetEase via its subsidiary Fever to open the school.
“We are thrilled to partner with NetEase and Fever to open the first electronic music school of its kind in China,” says Point Blank’s CEO Rob Cowan about the partnership. “We are looking forward to training the next generation of Chinese artists and opening the doors to their success in China and on a global scale.”
Point Blank will first focus on delivering a specially formatted and comprehensive year-long Music Production & Sound Engineering Diploma which includes the following subject areas: music production, DJ skills, music composition, sound design, sound engineering, the art of mixing, audio for games, mastering and more. Thereafter, it’s the school’s intention to deliver its BA (Hons) Music Production & Sound Engineering degree at the Point Blank China site.
The school in China will join Point Blank's growing base of schools in Los Angeles, Ibiza and Mumbai, in addition to their online offerings. With a growing market interested in EDM, pop and DJing, in addition to hundreds of clubs springing up across the nation, now is the time for this expansion.
