Nils Frahm has announced a new EP, Encore 2, which the second accompanying EP to go with his 2018 album All Melody. He has released the first single from the four-track EP, titled “Spell.”

Nils Frahm likes his music to be lengthy and “Spell” is no different, crafting a sprawling and at times frenetic and tense 12-minute composition that will leave you on the edge of your seat. The EP was recorded through an amplified stone well Frahm found on Mallorca.

“The idea behind Encores is one we had from before All Melody; to separate releases each with their own distinct musical style and theme, perhaps even as a triple album,” says Nils Frahm in a statement. “But All Melody became larger than itself and took over any initial concepts. I think the idea of Encores is like musical islands that compliment All Melody.”

Encore 2 will be released on January 25. However, until then make sure you listen to “Spell” a few times.
