It has been 25 years to the day since one of the most important hip-hop albums ever Enter The Wu-Tang (36 Chambers) was released. In honor of the, on Staten Island, it has been declared Wu-Tang Clan Day. Also a new short documentary has been released called For The Children: 25 Years of Enter The Wu-Tang (36 Chambers), confirming that, yes, Wu-Tang Clan is for the kids.
The film goes into mythology of the album and how it was made from the perspective of each member. They each talk about the dynamic of the group and it is spliced with some recent live footage. The film features fan accounts from A$AP Rocky, A$AP Ferg, Gary Vaynerchuck, Joey Bada$$, and honorary member Young Dirty Bastard (Ol’ Dirty Bastard’s first-born son).
In addition to the film, they also went on Good Morning America to perform “Protect Ya Neck” for a bleeped out and chaotic rendition of the track with the camera guys trying to keep up with all nine members all of the stage.
