With the inaugural year of HiJinx Festival soon approaching on Friday, December 28 to Saturday, December 29th at the PA Convention Center in Philadelphia, we're getting excited for it. Living in NYC, we have access to large staple festivals like Governor's Ball, Panorama, and Electric Zoo. It will be refreshing to have a new Northeast festival with a quality lineup, bringing artists like Odesza, Bassnectar, Big Gigantic, Griz, Illenium and RL Grime. Judging solely on the lineup, we think HiJinx will be a success as long as safety, logistics, and atmosphere are as well-thought out throughout the weekend, which shouldn't be an issue since Live Nation is curating it.
As people realize HiJinx would be a solid festival to end the year on, tickets are quickly selling out. GA tier 3 and VIP tier 1 tickets are still available and give you access to both days. The lineup feels balanced in terms of talent and diversity in musical genre so we are keeping an eye out for further details closer to the festival date.
The PA Convention Center is massive, spanning four city blocks and 1,000,000 square feet. We are looking forward to the space being filled with an eager crowd for two days in a row in a location where a music festival is happening for the first time ever.
Gender diversity is important and Whipped Cream and Xie are the only female artists playing. It would have been great to have some bigger female artists, but progress is still progress and from the looks of it, HiJinx is promoting inclusivity and making sure everyone is respected and has a great time.
Details such as the HiJinx Bazaar, art installations, and other important notes will be updated when we know more closer to the festival date.
