Hello everyone, and welcome to another episode of In Conversation. The past few guests have been some of electronic music's finest talents. But as you know, both this show and electronic music as a whole, are so much more than just producers and DJs. If you've ever used Soundcloud, seen an artist giving away a free track in exchange for a follow, you've either used today's guest's product or someone else's version of it. Download gates have become such an integral part of newer artist's fan building. But where did they come from? Producer and DJ John Gold saw a need for simple and easy to use tools for artists to create their fanbases in an authentic and potentially rapid manner. In today's episode, we discuss the creation of the fan gate, buying and selling music using social currency, and how his company Hypeddit is changing the way artists and fans connect.
