LDRU is a name that became familiar to many in the wave of Australian bass and future bass producers that swept over the world from 2014-2016. His production output has never been overwhelming, but it has slowed in the past two years, with just one single released this year to date…until now. We are happy to premiere Drew Carmody’s new single “Can’t Drive” featuring Mammals, which will be released tomorrow, December 14.

Mammals delivers the repetitive hook that sounds like a 10 year old saying noting loudly and in a high-pitched voice that they can’t drive. LDRU creates the rest of the song, using that pitched vocal to help create a similar melody with piano and searing synths over a steady dose of punchy drums.

"This track is the first of many and a good taste of what’s to come. ‘Can’t Drive’ doesn’t like Monday mornings and highly endorses dancing weirdly, so believe me when I say it’s fun. Show your friends, show your mum, turn it up loud and wiggle your bum,” says LDRU in full Australian.

The single may be his last in 2018, but there is more to come in 2019. Pre-order "Can't Drive" on iTunes or stream on Spotify, when it is released on December 14.
