Black Mirror has released the trailer to their new film Bandersnatch, which will be released conveniently tomorrow, Friday, December 28. The Netflix film will follow young programmer named Stefan, (Fionn Whitehead from Dunkirk), whose world is turned upside down into something twisted and surreal in the goal of creating a video game.
Stefan joins a computer game company that his boss describes as “a hit factory, like Motown but for computer games.” The book, Bandersnatch, is used as the inspiration for the game he is trying to make. They say, “a bit of madness is what you need,” and expect a bit of that with Black Mirror as reality blends with hallucinations.
David Slade, who directed the Season Four episode "Metalheadz," will helm the movie (which they are dubbing an “event”). Will Poulter, Craig Parkinson, Alice Lowe and Asim Chaudhry will also appear in the installment, according to The Hollywood Reporter. A fifth season of Black Mirror is also in the cards, but a premiere date has not been announced.
Set in the 1980s, if the trailer soundtrack is any indication, the music is going to be great.
