By now you have probably seen the memes. The Netflix Fyre Festival Documentary took us behind the scenes into the absolute debacle that was Fyre festival, showing the fraud and deception that helped create the greatest festival to never occur. There were plenty of quality quotes and moments from the festival, but one that has stuck out so far was a story from Andy King, a veteran event producer. He had been working with Billy McFarland for the past several years, organizing events for Magnises and then was brought on last minute to right the ship at Fyre. When it was all going south and an enormous amount of water was held up by customs and they didn’t have the money to pay for it, something needed to be done. So King was ready to take one for the team. Billy told King – a gay man – give the customs official a blow job.
“I said, 'Billy, what?' And he said, 'Andy, if you will go down and suck Cunningham's dick—who's the head of customs—and get him to clear all of the containers with water, you will save this festival," King recalled in the documentary. "And I literally drove home, took a shower, I... I... I... I drank some mouthwash. I'm like, 'Oh my gosh... I'm really' — and I got into my car to drive across the island to take one for the team and I got to his office fully prepared to suck his dick."
That story has become a meme for just how far someone is willing to go to do something. That guest list is closed? Andy King. Spicy out at Popeyes? Andy King. Credit card denied? Andy King. He spoke to Netflix about his newfound fame and is happy that they can use the moment to do some good in helping the unpaid workers in the Bahamas.
