Sennheiser is making a big bet on a new AMBEO 3D soundbar that it hopes will be propel it to becoming one of the best at providing in home sound. It isn’t for the cash strapped as it will cost you $2,500 when it is finally put on sale this May.
Designed to transform a living room, the soundbar is powered by 13 drivers and the latest virtualization technology, which was jointly developed with Fraunhofer IIS. The AMBEO Soundbar optimizes the sound for the individual room and preferred seating position. This is done through its room calibration, which uses an external microphone (included) that optimizes acoustics for that room. If you do a massive change the room, then just recalibrate the acoustics.
It comes with five different presets for movie, music, sports, news and neutral if you want to have the best sound for a movie, sports game, news people yelling at each other over a Trump tweet or just like music to sound really good.
The tech has already been very well reviewed so far, so if you can drop the cash on this, consider it, or think about hearing it CES this year or your local electronics store when this is released in May.
