Kastle is a name synonymous with the US bass music scene. His career that spans over a decade is littered with groundbreaking music that has always seen him stay just one step ahead of the curve. His propensity for fusing pop sensibilities with underground grit, has continued to make him a sought after producer, remixer, mixtape curator, and A&R for the better part of the last decade. If you're a fan of bass house or dubstep, you likely have Kastle to thank for helping put them on the map.
The L.A. based producer returns to form with "4Real," a sizzling UKG styled single off of his new compilation and DJ Mix Get Right Inside, out now on the stalwart UK label Four40 Records. Layering lush pads under a sultry R&B vocal sample, the track begins to take on a dark and slightly sinister tone as the warm womp of the sub-bass pulls you into a solid thumping groove. What really shines on this, and many of Kastle's productions is his ability to allow dark and light to play with each other within a tune. This compilation spotlights his ability to find the balance between what moves the mainstream and what works in the underground.
Kastle has always been a diverse performer and recording artist. Even in his days as B Rich, there was something left of center about his sound that set him apart from the status quo. This is likely the reason why he is one of the few artists from the blog house days that continues to innovate and find new ways to make the club thump.
