You Don’t Know has been in the making for the past seven years and features collaborations with Lazarusman, Mike Leary, The Horrorist, Thomas Gandey and Gabriella Vergilov,
The album is named You Don’t Know because he hopes that this album will try and dispel some notions about what type of an artist he is.
"The album is named You Don't Know because many people have a preconceived idea of who I am. Until now, maybe I wasn't smart enough to show them who I really am, my roots, what I love and what I can offer to the music,” he says in a statement. “I'm not just a DJ or a producer who can play or make grooves – I love many different genres and many different kinds of music. With this album I want to change that preconception. I want to show a side of me that people have never seen."
To prep the LP, has put out an album sampler, which includes two of the collaborations with The Horrorist and Gabriella Vergilov. A complete tracklist will follow. You Don't Know will be released digitally and on vinyl on June 17. Pick up the sampler here.
In addition to the album announcement, Coyu gave us 30 minutes of a live set with with a frenetic blend of acid, house and a dash of techno.
