DJ Pierre has tabbed 35, yes 35, different house and techno producers to remix his iconic track as Phuture, "Acid Track." The Acid house pioneer is doing so to celebrate his 35-year anniversary in the business. Names that will be remixing include Carl Cox, Kerri Chandler, Nastia, Chris Liebing and more.
“Acid Track” is widely considered the first acid house song. The song was created by the pioneering group Phuture in 1987, consisting of DJ Pierre, Spanky aka DJ Spank Spank and Herb J. They created an entire genre of music, often associated with the Roland TB-303, which they used to create weird and new sounds.
The first volume of remixes will be released on his Afro Acid label this July. Volume one includes versions from KiNK, Bloody Mary, Paco Osuna, Analog Kitchen and Beyun. Others who have been announced to remix include Dubfire, Carl Craig, Luciano, Posthuman and many more
A new volume will be released every three weeks. Each volume will be released on 500 heavyweight colored vinyl in full printed sleeve.
The first batch of remixes will be released on July 12.
