Kornél Kovács has announced his new album Stockholm Marathon. He sophomore LP will be released on April 26 via his record label Studio Barnhus.

Kovács goes back to his roots with Stockholm Marathon, embracing a new collaborative spirit.

He was born in Stockholm in 1985 to Hungarian parents and became a part of the drum and bass and jungle scene from an early age. His tastes evolved, including after an early retirement, leading to his 2016 album The Bells on his label Studio Barnhus. Now he is back in his old place in Stockholm, reconnecting with his roots and channeling that into this new project.

"I started work on this back in September '18, right after moving back to my old flat here in Stockholm. It was a pretty weird time for me and I found myself reflecting a lot on this beautiful, boring city I never quite manage to move away from, on past relationships, experiences,” Kovács says in a statement. "I started experimenting with the combination of two well-tested ways of feeling better: making music and spending time with friends.”

He collaborated with Rebecca & Fiona, who sing throughout the album, including on the single below “Rocks.” He also worked with jazz musician Niclas Skagstedt, who Kovács has known since kindergarten and Matt Karmil who mixed the record. Malin Gabriella Nordin made the artwork. Pre-order the album here.
