A new techno club is coming to New York City. BASEMENT is a new techno club that will be situated under the Knockdown Center in Queens. The Knockdown Center already hosts events by rap, pop and dance acts, so this will give them a club to showcase techno on a more regular basis.

The venue, which launches in May, will be situated under the main hall of the brick former glass factory. The room is literally underground and will showcase a mix of world-trotting and up-and-coming techno acts from around the globe. The BASEMENT will be accessible through a separate entrance.

BASEMENT will feature a Funktion-One sound system and a custom lighting rig. Each event will be 21+ and attendees will have to adhere to a specific set of rules including creating a safer space and no photos or video (they can try).

The venue will open on May 10 with Rebekah, Heidi Sabertooth and Ne/Re/A. The following night will feature DVS1. Other names during May include Luke Slater, 999999999, Irakli, Tommy Four Seven and Vatican Shadow. Get tickets here.

Other names like Shlohmo, Tin Man, Staub and Xiorro will play in June or July, though exact dates have not been confirmed.
