You’ve just released your catchy new tune "Don’t Wanna Get Up" – we’re big fans! Can you tell us what the track is all about?
I started “Don’t Wanna Get Up” with a simple chord progression. Within only a few hours of work, I fell in love with how it all came together. After working on initial parts of the track, I decided that I wanted the song to be all about unconditional love. I started searching for an amazing voice and a singer who could connect with my music and feeling to sing about love on my song. I truly believe if you create something from deep in your heart, the result would be amazing no matter what.
Eventually I found Jason Farol, one of the most talented artists, who shared my vision to complete my project.
What were some of the most enjoyable parts of making it? What did you gain from the process, and what helps you to keep developing as an artist?
Oh I enjoyed every second of making this track: from sound design to mixing and mastering it. I loved spending hours and hours in the studio layering the baseline, chords and the drums. What I gained from the process was finding a great balance and composing a slower BPM track in comparison to my previous EDM songs.
I love melodies, I love chord progressions, I feel like with all my EDM songs what I try to do at least, is to give out a certain emotion, a certain feeling with the music. I felt like in my pop music, that feeling was missing. So engaging my melodies and my feelings into my latest pop song really aided me to develop as a better artist. I truly believe all EDM and pop music lovers will deeply connect with this track since I truly did!
Who or what influences you musically? Do you find you get inspired by lots of different genres and styles?
I grew up listening to David Guetta and Calvin Harris' music and my inspirational genres are R&B, funk, pop and even rock. I am truly a big fan of 70s and 80s music. I think their work is just brilliant! My inspiration in recent years has come from listening to really old melodies and honestly, I am constantly in the studio working on producing many new pop creations - with great concepts of the past.
How did you first meet Jason Farol? Would you want to collaborate again in the future?
Jason and I connected through social media! He is just a super talented artist with an amazing voice and I am definitely planning to collaborate with him in the near future.
Would you consider yourself a perfectionist?
Well, it's not super easy for me to complete and release a track in a timely manner. I am very strict on what I release and I want to generate that perfect harmony every time. My dad is an architect, he would spend hours on his design and honestly, I believe that I inherited my perfectionism from my father!
How do you want your music to make people feel?
I want to offer my audience everything they deserve: good music, good vibes and good energy. I just love making music. I don't want to think, "Oh, I’m just an electronic music producer." No, I just do whatever feels good. Sometimes it’s a pop song, sometimes it’s funky or even a rap song. I have never enjoyed making negative/sad music and I alway aims to produce a song for everyone to enjoy and have fun with. All A-Leo ever imagined for his music creations was to bring change to people lives.
What else is on the horizon for A-LEO in 2019? Any major goals you want to achieve?
I have been working very hard for a very long time on music production. I simply enjoy being a great producer who connects with people on another level when performing all around the world. Hmmm, what are my goals?! My team and I are looking forward to performing at EDC and Burning Man in 2019.
