Beatport has launched a pair of new subscription services: LINK & CLOUD. Link is the flagship program that offers allows users to stream the entire catalogue of seven million songs on Beatport and make playlists (good for Djing). CLOUD is the less expansive service that enables unlimited re-downloads, a “needle drop” feature that allows you to hear any 120 second preview in a song and a music library with loads of ways to filter tracks.
LINK comes with some additional features. Offline performance mode isn't available now, but will be in future unnamed integrations, which is critical for DJing in low internet environments. It has been integrated with Pioneer DJ’s WeDJ app to help bridge the gap for beginner DJs. In the fall, LINK will integrate with Pioneer’s rekordbox software. This integration will allow subscribers to stream Beatport’s catalog in rekordbox and use curated playlists.
Other integrations are coming sometime this year, but Beatport is not revealing which ones.
LINK also has all of the features that are included with CLOUD.
Many of you may remember Beatport’s former streaming service that was shut down in about a year. This one will take a different approach as it is geared towards DJs and their needs rather than the general music consuming populace.
