The coroner examining The Prodigy’s Keith Flint has been unable to come to a medical conclusion that his death was by suicide. He was found dead in his home on March 4 and had an unspecified amount of cocaine, alcohol and codeine in his system at the time.

The coroner’s officer, Linda Calder said today there was insufficient evidence to conclude that Flint took his own life, nor that the death was accidental. According to Calder, he may have been “larking around and it all went horribly wrong.”

I’m going to conclude an open conclusion,” she said via The Guardian. “We will never quite know what was going on in his mind on that date and so that’s why I’m going to record an open conclusion.”

Yesterday, The Prodigy shared their first statement in a while, noting the importance of mental health and mental health services. “If you are struggling with depression, addiction or the impact of suicide, please do not suffer in silence,” they write.
