Remember last year when we all got very excited that Stardust’s iconic French house track “Music Sounds Better With You” was going to be re-mastered and re-released for its 20th anniversary? After that didn't happen, we have confirmation that the song is finally being put on streaming services and released on vinyl next month.
Celebrating its 21 year anniversary (it can drink in the US), “Music Sounds Better Than You” defined a sound for France and global house music. The duo of Alan Braxe and Thomas Bangalter met in Paris in the mid-1990s and then created two hits. “Vertigo” came out in 1997, followed by “Music Sounds Better With You” with Benjamin Diamond on vocals in 1998. They decided to call it quits after the song and not take up big money offers for an album.
The re-release will mean it will be on streaming services for the first time ever. The vinyl reissue is a 12” black vinyl with the sleeve printed in silver foil. Side b comes etched with roulette design.
"Music Sounds Better With You" will drop on June 28 on all streaming platforms. The vinyl ships that day. It can be pre-ordered as part of a series of bundles that include tote bags, a t-shirt or all three items together.
