Ultra Music Festival is moving. The giant dance music festival announced on Twitter today that they are leaving Virginia Key and moving to a new location in South Florida.
The festival moved to Virginia Key for its 2019 edition after Miami officials kicked it out of Bayfront Park. Its March festival was marred by problems like traffic and long lines on Friday, which abated the second and third days. There have been environmental concerns with the sound reportedly causing problems for the fish in the area.
In the note, UMF says that it is voluntarily terminating its license with Miami and are now finalizing a new South Florida location, which it says will be its new permanent home. “After listening to feedback….it is clear that the festival experience on Virginia Key was simply not good enough.”
A formal announcement on the move will be made soon.
