Inglewood rapper Thurz has always pushed the boundaries when it has come to his creativity. While always being known as a talented rapper, the sense of style and the energy that he brings to whatever he's working on are just some of the reasons why brands like Red Bull and Adidas have teamed up with him in the past. Now Thurz has leveled up once again, making his directorial debut (with the help of fellow directors Paulo Berberan and Yannick Koffi) for his new music video for Long Live," which is the first single from his upcoming album Party In My Living Room that will be released later this year.

The song (which was produced by Jake One) features an old school sample style, which brings out the golden era vibe in this track and compliments Thurz' sound and cadence perfectly. The video is a vibe in itself, diving into some of the harsh realities that come from street culture. While the video does a great job of keeping the viewer entertained, the track is actually aimed towards paying respects to some of Thurz’ biggest influences throughout his life.

"The track is about giving impactful people in my life their flowers while they can still smell them. An ode to all the family members and friends that have helped shaped my perspective as a man and human being. Their teachings along with life experiences create the necessity for 'realness' to be cherished forever. Jake One provided the perfect soundscape to reflect on all that has inspired me. Honor those you love while they're here," remarks Thurz via Complex

This message is a reminder that everything and everyone around us is temporary and that appreciation for each and everything in ones life goes a long way. After taking some time off to recenter his creative energy, it's great to have Thurz back in the mix and we hope you are enjoying his new music / art as much as we are.
