If you've ever been a fan of techno, or tech house, chances are you've listened to Umek's music. He and his label 1605, have been responsible for releasing some of the biggest records in both genres in the last decade. While his sound has evolved over the years, the quality has remained consistently top-notch. About two years ago, he took a break from releasing on his label to focus on reworking his sound and recently made his triumphant return, in which we actually premiered one of his new tracks. In this episode, we discuss what he was doing in that time away, how 1605 came to be, and how even when you're at the top, the grind never stops.
