In what may be a shocker to many, Lee Burridge is announcing his debut studio album titled Melt. It comes alongside Belgian producer Lost Desert. To help push the album, they have released the new single “Mibale” featuring Democratic Republic of Congo-born singer Junior Akwerty with its soothing melodies and vocals sung in Akwerty’s native language Lingala, which can be found on other album tracks.
The new 10-track collaborative album channels the All Day I Dream spirit and sound; the label Burrudge is the head of. Fans may recognize two other tracks “Lingala” and “Elongi.”
Burridge and Lost Desert have worked together in the past, releasing two collaborative EPs — Stand Up Right and K Bug.
The album draws on themes of love and connection.
“Melt hopes to create a connection. With it. With others. We both feel that musical music evokes a special kind of magic that instills itself deep in your soul. If you truly connect with it, it stays with you forever. It marks a moment or moments that you shared with it and with others on your journey through life,” explains Burridge in a statement. “This was one of our motivations when we wrote each track and the album as a full storytelling experience.”
The album will be released on All Day I Dream July 17.
