Welcome to In Conversation, the podcast dedicated to giving you an unparalleled look into electronic music's greatest minds, both in the studio and beyond. We deconstruct their daily routines, fears, and quirks, showing you what makes them tick, and what exactly makes them so successful. From artists to managers, agents and promoters, these are the people who make it happen, pushing our community forward.
Not all too long ago, we premiered the music video for post-punk heroes She Past Away's Disko Anksiyete, the title track of their brand new album. The album is a slight departure from the sound they've become known for, but not in a jarring way, but in a more polished and evolved way. I was fortunate enough to get a chance with band member Doruk Ozturkcan to discuss the process of their new album, how the band came to be, how growing up in Turkey helped shape who they are as a band and as individuals. One of my favorite bits of this interview is when Doruk speaks about the fight against society and even those close to us in regards to staying true to who you are, and not conforming to any outside opinions and judgments.
