Pacsafe, the backpack company known for their anti-theft travel gear, has unveiled a new line of backpacks. The new line of backpacks are built from recycled waste.
The bags are made with ECONYL fabric, which is a fabric made from recycled waste – fishing nets, fabric scraps, industrial plastic, carpet flooring, fabric scraps that are rescued from landfills and oceans worldwide.
The six-piece collection includes backpacks in three sizes. There are the three backpacks and three bags that are smaller, shoulder bags. Two of the bags are grey Metrosafe bags. The backpacks come in in 15L, 25L and 45L sizes. They range from a smaller backpack for carrying a few items to the larger Venturesafe bag that is meant for carrying items on a long trip.
The company says that using this fabric is a way to try and clean up the oceans. 8 million tons of plastic is dumped into the ocean every year. Pacsafe says this is the first step to being a virgin plastic free company by 2025.
