Jauz’s new label Bite This has been a source for innovative genre-blending artists that find a milieu between house and bass. Jauz himself broke out that way with “Feel The Volume” and “Rock The Party,” which will still rock a party. Now he is looking for extend his foray into house music with a new single “Don’t Leave Me,” from an upcoming house compilation for Bite This, Jauz Presents: This Is Off The Deep End.

“Don’t Leave Me” is the first taste from the compilation, which features some of the brightest new names in bassy house music. The first single “Don’t Leave Me” gets things started in a hurry and with a resounding bang.

"Don't Leave Me" starts with a synth line you will hear throughout the record that has a bit of an early-2010s feel to it. It begins to get a little more menacing as subtle growing bass enters the foray and a melodic topline dominates the picture. Then the tune drops off with a groovy and deep bassline, while some of the earlier melodic elements are distorted and twisted for this foray into house music.

Adding to the record is a proggy bridge and then the second drop completely flips the script with a flurry of acid-hinting notes and some grinding sub-bass. Don’t leave the dancefloor when this one drops.

The song has many layers that seem to have taken some time to put together, but in fact this was a quick one for Jauz.

“This song came together so organically... it kind of reminded me of the process of how I wrote “Feel The Volume” a bit. I started with the bassline from the first drop, which I just wrote accidentally while playing around with a bunch of new synth sounds I had gotten. From there the whole thing kind of wrote itself over the course of a couple hours,” explains Jauz to Magnetic. “

"I just kept finding samples and sounds and melodies that fit the puzzle perfectly. Making tracks can definitely feel like banging your head against the wall a lot of the time so when it comes together so effortlessly it’s a really special moment. As musicians and producers those are the kinds of sessions we dream about.”

“Don’t Leave Me” will be released tomorrow, July 12 via Bite This. Jauz Presents: This Is Off The Deep End will be released on July 26.
