William Djoko has been on a roll recently, and comes off of his recent soundtracking of last month's Burberry SS20 Fashion Show to provide us with a groovy and satisfying list to kick off the weekend.
You can catch 'em live this weekend at Secret Project tomorrow in his B2B with Loco Dice.
The rest of this article is in William's own words:
"10 pieces of Music that did not make the final cut of my Burberry SS20 curation yet I still adore and hear playing as the backdrop to my dreams."
1. Philou Louzolo - Susano
Out on his own Wokoundou label, this piece of music is very mystifying and dream like. What it feels like to me to be in a lucid state getting ready to soar.
2. Hieroglyphic Being - Dimensions Of Frequency & Vibrations
A producer I value very much ever since coming in contact with the music. Angelic vibes created within a world of wonder.
3. Steve Reich - Music for 8 Musicians: Pulses
Ever since I witnessed this piece in real life back in 2007 at Het Muziekgebouw aan het IJ in Amsterdam I like to go back this composition for inspiration and peace of mind. Very powerful, minimalism at it's finest.
4. James Maloney - Lament (Clemens Ruh remix)
A very pensive melancholic dreamscape that keeps building on all frequencies until it's final release and acceptance of tranquility.
5. Tangerine Dream - Cool Shibuya
This could be a chase scene in a futuristic dystopian setting, Tokyo inspired by Blade Runner.
6. Hugo Massien - The Only Constant Is Change
This one puts me in a special mood when the track comes to an uplifting after having dwelled in darkness for a bit, cathartic.
7. William Djoko - Enforce YS
One of my older perhaps even overlooked tunes that shows another side of me compared to my highly energetic stage persona. Serves as a reminder to always be challenging yourself and your surroundings.
8. Altinbass - Emphasis
Not all dreams haver to be soothing and calm. Relishing in it's heart beat like connection to the human experience and also possibly considering the need to escape and morph into a trans-human like state.
9. Khruangbin - Cómo Me Quieres
Is it the cycle we are in currently that made us come closer and connect or are we out of love and having to accept that our love is changing and we are starting a new cycle. How do you love me?
10. Ronnie Foster - Mystic Brew
If you made it this far through the playlist, thank you for listening and reading my ramblings. Sit back, relax and enjoy this Mystic Brew.
