Record Store Day has announced the details for its upcoming Black Friday celebration. While the big Record Store Day bonanza takes place in April (often around 4/20), they have grown beyond one day and expanded to Black Friday – the biggest shopping day of the year in the United States.
There will be over 150 different items on offering, some exclusive and all somewhat rare in their own way. There will be acts across music from rock to country, to classical and hip-hop.
Cardi B’s mixtape Gangsta Bitch Vol. 1 is a RSD First, in addition to others like Lizzo’s Coconut Oil EP, Arcade Fire’s Neighborhood #1 (Tunnels) and Paul McCartney’s “Home Tonight/In A Hurry” singles that didn’t make Egypt Station. These will be made available on vinyl as is what happens on RSD.
Pearl Jam continue as this year’s Record Store Day Ambassadors with the first-ever vinyl release of their MTV Unplugged set. Paul Westerberg’s project with his alter-ego double Grandpaboy, Stereo/Mono, gets its first vinyl release.
Record Store Day Black Friday will take place November 29, 2019. Head to their website to see the full list of artists and vinyl records you will be able to purchase. Also check out where it will be going down in your area.
