Hopefully, you are enjoying all the best that summer has to offer, and Happy Pride! We know that we can count on the world’s best DJs and producers to kick the summer releases up a notch, and June is no exception!
The June chart sees the return of Villanis with Ladies On Mars cooking up a killer remix, Suki Soul singing her heart out, not once, but twice, La Felix giving us some fantastic nu-disco vibes, and Dam Swindle surprising us with an awesome new track. You will not be disappointed by all of the other incredible artists that fill out the top 15 songs!
As many parts of the world still seem to be upside down, let’s focus on the positives that our beloved disco/funk/nu-disco music provides. Unity and love are what we are looking for, and we thank the artists involved for giving us sweet slices of that dream.

The funk is strong with the Sauco remix of “Bliss”! Situation always brings the heat on his tracks, and where the original has a more ethereal feel to it, Sauco‘s remix layers over heavy funky disco grooves with congas, horns, and all the slappin’ bass you could want. Now, slip on those dancing shoes, and let’s go!
Nicola Zucchi aka Sparkling Attitude made the right decision when he asked in-demand vocalist Suki Soul to sing the vocal on “Disco Delight”! Suki’s soulful delivery elevates this already excellent disco jam to the next level, bringing just the right amount of sex appeal and sass to demand that you listen to this track on repeat!
Argentina’s Jonathan Braverman, aka Ladies On Mars, has remixed Villanis‘ “Get Up Girl“, and the remix is so good that the song gets a May and June feature! This remix brings a more synth-heavy approach, think of Giorgio Moroder‘s influence in the late 70s and early 80s. The essential fabric of the original remains intact while the BPM is increased slightly, the disco strings flow freely and the funky bass takes this track to the next level.
HP Vince flows between dance genres easily, but my favorites are always when he leans into a good old-fashioned disco banger! “To New York City” fulfills its destiny by sounding like it would have been played by Larry Levan at Paradise Garage. Nothing could be a greater love letter to the city and the genre!
New Zealand-based producer La Felix is back with “Blonde Sunset”, a breezy sun-soaked affair that begs to be listened to with a cocktail in your hand and the sand between your toes! This is Nu-disco at its absolute finest!
Mark de Clive-Lowe‘s broken beat “Sunrays” featuring the sensational vocals of Andre Espeut came out a year ago, but right in time for summer 2022 is the Voilaaa remix, built of equal parts jazz, reggae, funk, and disco. There shouldn’t be a beach day, yacht, or pool party that you aren’t hearing this track over the next few months!
I dare you not to bite your bottom lip as soon as “Funky Turns Me On” starts! Sasha Mitiko has expertly added a heavy layer of bass to the Commodores‘ “Thumpin’ Music”, making the track sound full and modern, while still giving a nod to the track’s 70s roots.
I will admit my French is very rusty, so my comprehension of the lyrics of this song is pretty bad, but the tone of “Volutes Bleutées” (bluish swirls) is what matters. This nu-disco track by 3615 Nuits Blanches is oh-so sexy and is perfectly defined as French boogie. I can’t wait to dip my toes further into this band’s catalog!
Let’s get to know Denver, Colorado’s own Funk Hunk! “A Love Of Our Own” is a proper slice of boppin’ summer disco that will definitely get you up and grooving! The entire 3-song EP is worth the purchase, so check it out at Spa In Disco Records.
Dam Swindle is back with their hot new track “All I Want” from their EP Keep On Swindling Pt. 1. This is the first of multiple EPs to be released in 2022, featuring remixes of classic tracks as well as a few new surprises. “All I Want is classic Dam Swindle, a mix of disco and house in just the right amounts, so no matter your preference, you will love this and all of the goodies that are coming this year!
If I had to categorize this track, I would call it yacht disco. Shalvoy‘s “Hot4U” is a smooth, sexy, poolside-ready disco. Laden with sweet brass, seductive vocals, congas, and rhythm guitar in all the right places, this track makes us “Hot4U” too!
If you need a little 80s-laden synth-funk, then Ezirk‘s “Erotik” is for you! This track sounds like a slice of city nightlife, a call to all of those who are drawn to the sounds of sirens, car horns, laughter, and the promise of a good time. “Erotik” will take you there without the price of admission.
It’s not often that an artist shows up on the chart twice in one month, but that’s how in-demand Suki Soul is right now! Da Lukas has also employed Suki’s vocal talents on “Searching For The One”, a disco banger in its truest sense. Make sure to drop this jam once the dancefloor has hit its hottest! Grab this one on Midnight Riot! Records now!
Australia’s Ken Walker aka Ken@Work is here to give you 4 minutes full of reasons to dance with “Gonna Dance”. With a vocal this sultry and a seductive beat to go along with it, this hot track will make you want to dance, and maybe with a partner! This track has classic disco written all over it. Now, get up and go find someone to spin around the dancefloor!
Ladies On Mars is one of the world’s most in-demand disco producers, and this time we are focusing on one of his original tracks “We Are”, joined by the band Saavedra Funk. The vocals blend perfectly with sexy sax and even some jazz flute (a personal favorite). Life can be so shady, so we’ve gotta keep on keeping on, just like the lyric says!
