The word Growth is defined as:
- The act or process, or a manner of growing; development; gradual increase.
- Size or stage of development
- Completed development.
- Development from a simpler to a more complex stage.
- Development from another but related form or stage
But for those working on the front lines of the music industry, it can be all too easy to only look at the end goal of where you want to be in a decade and completely ignore the steps that it takes to get there. But growth as an artist, record label, band member, or anything else takes small and committed moves each and every day that compound over time to create something truly magical.
Nobody knows that better than Gravitas Recordings’ head honcho, Jesse Brede. This is why there is no better guest than him to break it all down in its entirety for the seventh episode of the Magnetic Meaning podcast.

And he’s managed to push the needle on all these endeavors forward while going through times of serious hardship, personal growth, and industry setbacks. This makes me stoked for us to dive headfirst into “Growth” with Jesse Brede.

Over the last decade as a professional music producer, Will Vance has also ran multiple successful and highly respected record labels in the industry, including Where The Heart Is Records as well as having launched a new label with a focus on community through Magnetic Magazine. When not running these labels or producing his own music, Vance is likely writing for other top industry sites like Waves or the Hyperbits Masterclass or working on his upcoming book on mindfulness in music production. On the rare chance he's not thinking about music production, he's probably running a game of Dungeons and Dragons with his friends which he has been the dungeon master for for many years.
