UK-Based songwriter Sunbrella returns with his unique and diverse new single, “Heartworn”. Laced with fast-paced drum beats with striking guitar chords and Sunnbrella’s easy-going vocals, transporting listeners to a beachside location. Tracks such as “A Week Or So” combine a melancholic undertone with an upbeat, indie rhythm. The album’s title track “Heartworn” explores the sad indie side of his songwriting style. The entire project is composed using old-school breaks and at times, leans more towards rave than a melancholic indie record – as Sunnbrella explains the album “Was originally titled ‘Dancefloor Daydreams’. I wanted to get more dance rhythms into the dream-pop/indie/shoegaze sound that I was working with up until that point, and put more of an emphasis on the beats, even with the more traditional songs.”

Sunnbrella, the Prague-born and London-based lo-fi shoegaze pop musician, has been gaining recognition since the release of his debut single “Feelin’ Invisible” in 2018. Known for hazy shoegaze sounds, “Heartworn,” takes a deeper dive into exploring complex rhythms and even a touch of the amen break. The album was co-produced by Sunnbrella and Patrick James Fitzroy (PVA, Sorry), who mixed Sunnbrella’s “Wanted Time” EP in 2019.

Overall, “Heartworn” is a must-listen for anyone looking for a unique and refreshing take on shoegaze-pop.
