Hailing from the one of the hottest house scenes on the planet, Miami-natives Ian and Julian are the masterminds behind Black V Neck. Since bursting onto the tech house circuit in 2017, this duo has already earned the support of underground icons and industry-leading acts, from Chris Lake, Green Velvet, and Claude VonStroke, to DJ Snake, Tchami, and Diplo. Additionally, their refreshing signature style has been featured on Repopulate Mars, Insomniac Records, Confession, and other renowned labels. On top of the pair’s production expertise, they have showcased their mixing abilities at a myriad of flagship events and venues, such as LIV Miami, Academy LA, Ultra, EDC Las Vegas and Orlando, Countdown, and more.
Now, Black V Neck is following up their recent heaters, “Original Don” and “Fire Burnin”, with “Oral Music”. Filled with crisp percussion and exotic effects, this anthem marks their second collab with veteran artist Afrojack. The track opens with tantalizing vocal chops blended seamlessly with an energetic bassline. Throughout “Oral Music”, there is a mesmerizing ebb and flow of entrancing buildups and groovy drops.
In its entirety, “Oral Music” is another thrilling hit that is primed for festival and late-night club play. Black V Neck and Afrojack showcase their unique production and creativity on the song. Released on Black V Neck’s new imprint Retail Records, “Oral Music” continues to build momentum for them as they gear up for exciting future releases and tour dates.
Raised in upstate New York, I was always a big fan of music but never really listened to electronic music. Within the first month of attending Florida State University and meeting some new friends, I was introduced to the rave scene. After seeing Ekali at my first show, I was instantly hooked. Since then, I have dived into every subgenre of electronic music, picked up DJing, and mixed for clubs and different entertainment events in Tallahassee. Once graduating with degrees in marketing and hospitality, I was hired for a sales position. However, I recently decided to leave my sales job to pursue my dream of working in the music industry. Currently, I run Magnetic Magazine's Melodic Techno Charts, along with my role as a PR and marketing specialist for different artists and labels. Some of my favorite artists are REZZ, Kyle Watson, TOBEHONEST, San Pacho, Josh Baker, HUGEL, ARTBAT, Vintage Culture, Ganja White Night, CamelPhat, Green Velvet, Jungle, Milky Chance, Paco Versailles, Franc Moody, and RÜFUS DU SOL. My favorite festivals are Hulaween (by far), EDC Orlando, and all the different venues during Miami Music Week. Outside of music, I love sports (especially hockey, soccer, tennis, basketball, and spike ball), going to the movies, working out, sushi, Chick-fil-A, food in general, and hanging with my dog Maui and my cat Loki.
