Nate Mars and DIA LUNA have teamed up to release the album, Out Of The City, a well-constructed drop that includes acid techno influences. Out of the City aims to bend the constructs of both the mental and physical worlds. Drawing inspiration from The Knife and Jamie xx, the LP is as experimental as it is danceable
.The album showcases a variety of sounds and influences, such DIA LUNA’s dark pop vocals, which immediately sedates the senses of the listener, and Nate Mars’ signature acid-infused percussion. Out of the City is a cohesive collaboration between these artists and features six tracks, including “Fire,” a high-energy dance floor anthem, and “Buy Your Time,” a more introspective and melodic track.
“This grouping of songs to me is really about taking a sharp look at the rituals of the modern age, particularly over the past years of pandemia, and asking what solutions we can find for survival in a culture that so often pushes us towards destruction. It was great to be able to focus on these kinds of themes using Nate’s unique production style to create tracks that are intense and danceable at the same time.” – Dia Luna
The album includes three additional acid techno soundscapes that are equally mystifying: “Acid Your Time,” “¿You Are?,” and its title piece, “Out of the City.” With their unique sound and talent, Nate Mars and DIA LUNA are poised for a bright future in the music industry, and fans will certainly properly soak in Out of the City.
Overall, Out of the City is an excellent album representing a solid signature sound. It’s an exciting time for fans of acid techno and experimental dance music, and Nate Mars and DIA LUNA are at the forefront of this movement.
