Tom Ashbrook, a neo-classical artist hailing from Liverpool, has just released his stunning single, “Dusk”, the first track from his upcoming album, “Nocturnes”. This emotive and warm piece takes listeners on a journey through a longing hope and a sentimental feeling, achieved through a blend of synth pads and stringed orchestral instruments.
As the track progresses, Ashbrook expertly builds it up, introducing each instrument and melody one at a time in waves. His passion for music started at the young age of 5, when he began his classical piano training. Since then, he has developed a deep appreciation for the emotive and storytelling qualities of film soundtracks, which is evident in the cinematic quality of his music.
Listening to “Dusk” is like watching a beautiful motion picture with grand landscapes and emotionally charged scenes. Ashbrook’s talent for creating evocative soundscapes is truly impressive, and his upcoming album Nocturnes is sure to be a treat for neo-classical music lovers.
Ashbrook talks about his forthcoming project, “Nocturnes is a collection of character pieces inspired by the falling of night, the ‘Blue Hour’. I wrote initial ideas of this concept all starting around 30 mins before sunset and 30 minutes before sunrise. With the sombre Juno chords and field texture recorded around 1750pm, ‘Dusk ‘ is the opening track of the album introducing the time, setting and colour palette of the album.”
