With their 8th annual Funk On The Rocks concert, Chromeo has become a Red Rocks institution. Every year features incredible electronic musicians, so seeing what the current year’s show offers is always exciting!

This year’s show began with the Grammy-nominated Cimafunk. The Cuban native is reimagining what Afro-Cuban music is, blending his African and Cuban heritage into scorching funk music that transported the crowd into a sizzling frenzy! Want to know more? Check him out here!

Up next was the Minneapolis-based twin sister DJ/Producer/Entrepreneur duo Coco & Breezy, who took the stage like they had been entertaining crowds their entire lives. Corianna and Brianna Dotson founded Coco & Breezy Eyewear in 2009 when they were 19 years old, so taking the stage at Red Rocks seemed to be second nature to these ladies.

Hot Chip is celebrating its 23rd year as a band, and what better way to celebrate than with a 2023 US tour with a stop at Red Rocks Amphitheater!? No Hot Chip fan could be disappointed with their setlist, including classics “Night and Day”, “Ready For The Floor”, and “Over and Over”, plus recent tracks from their excellent 2022 release Freakout/Release.

Weather in Morrison, Colorado has been nothing short of unpredictable lately, and Saturday was no different. The heavens opened up on the crowd with rain and hail which delayed Chromeo’s set, but the crowd was diligent, threw on their rain gear, and waited it out! After a 30-minute delay, Chromeo made their triumphant return to Red Rocks with a new stage set and new music to show off.

“Fancy Footwork” and “Bonafide Lovin'” got the crowd moving after the rain delay, and the Chromeo faithful sang every single word with the Dave 1 and Pee Thug. The boys included several new tracks from their upcoming album including “Words With You”, and finished out the evening with “Jealous (I Ain’t With It)”. The crowd would have stayed and danced for the rest of the night, but no one left disappointed from 2023’s Funk On the Rocks!
