Berlin-based production duo Josi Miller and Stefan Heinrich showcase their exceptional talent in crafting an immersive narrative through their music. Refusing to be boxed into any kind of genre stereotypes, they are experts at bringing elements from the underground electronic spectrum to accessible, pop-leaning tracks.

The new single “Lost Myself” opens with ethereal vocals expertly filtered, accompanied by a serene synthesizer that gradually evolves into a more powerful sonic landscape as the drums kick in, leading to a climactic moment. “Lost Myself” narrates the tale of a protagonist entangled in a phase of dissatisfaction and fear within the realm of nightlife. Import Export skillfully captures the overwhelming nature of interpersonal relationships, the desensitization of the senses, and the subsequent remorse experienced the morning after. Vocalist Josi Miller explains that the song describes her “Feeling of having to experience something and at the same time knowing that the evening can end repeatedly with panic and excess. We have transformed the feeling into music.”

Drawing inspiration from ’90s melancholic drum & bass and electronica, Import Export’s composition transcends traditional genre boundaries, finding its place in any dimly lit setting. Josi Miller’s background as a DJ and Stefan Heinrich’s expertise as a multi-instrumentalist and producer converge to create a truly distinctive sound that takes listeners on a celestial journey within the realm of dance music.
