Monstercat Uncaged welcomes Pixel Terror and Ace Aura’s ‘Arcadia,’ a melodic dubstep track designed to take you on the adventure of a lifetime–inside an arcade game, that is. We were lucky enough to get the chance to sit down with a pair and talk to them about all things ‘Arcadia!’
This track focuses on retro-gaming and chiptune elements. As Ace Aura tells Magnetic, video games have been a big part of his life, which is what led him to experiment with the same simple sounds that arcade games used, like simple saw waves being the foundation of many arcade game soundtracks.
They have both become Monstercat fan-favorites, with Pixel Terror’s top 5 tracks on Spotify, released on Monstercat, amassing over 22 million streams, and this track has been years in the making–quite literally. Both artists have grown significantly in the last year, and this collaboration has followed them through it all.
Pixel Terror has dominated the bass scene for years, with memorable performances at festivals like Nocturnal Wonderland, Lost Lands, and more. Going solo last year, Bentley of Pixel Terror has breathed new life into the project as he circled to his punk rock, metal roots. Melodic/future riddim commander Ace Aura’s “UMBRA (feat. Voicians),” was the second most-voted song on Monstercat’s ‘Best of 2022,’ and this track may very well top this year’s list. This year, he embarked on his debut headline tour, ‘Crystal Coalition,’ and announced festival performances like his 3rd return to Lost Lands, Moon Walk Festival, and others to come. He’s found fans in heavyweights such as Zeds Dead, Zomboy, and Subtronics, who he shares a collaboration with.
We’re sure these two will not be slowing down any time soon, and this is surely one of both fans’ most eagerly awaited releases. On that note, check out our interview with them below!
