Over the last decade, dry herb and concentrate vaporization has become the king of its industry. Among the wide spectrum of competing brands that provide THC and CBD smoking methods, G Pen has proved to be at the pinnacle. Now, building off of its groundbreaking G Pen Hyer Vaporizer, this high-end vaping manufacturer has teamed up with boxing legend Mike Tyson on a special edition of the original device.

The Tyson 2.0 x G Pen Hyer Vaporizer is the dream weapon every stoner needs in their arsenal. Speaking of weapons, Tyson’s influence goes way beyond the ring, as he is an acclaimed entrepreneur and advocate for the marijuana sector. It was only a matter of time before he partnered with a company as notable as Grenco Science, the mastermind behind G Pen.

First Impressions

I was ecstatic when the package arrived at my front door. Opening it up, I first noticed the visual cohesiveness of the box and design. On the back of the box there was a scratch-off code to register your product at www.gpen.com/register. There was also a clear-cut list of the all the contents so you could easily take inventory.

Cracking the box lid, I already knew I would be amazed by what I found inside. A stunning bright red hemp-made boxing glove travel case labeled ‘TYSON 2.0’ even had the typical strap to tighten it fitted with the G Pen Hyer logo. I hurriedly unzipped the sturdy casing to discover that each main piece was perfectly packed into hard, yet extremely protective, styrofoam molds. You could probably drop this case from a couple stories up (although I wouldn’t suggest it) and all the parts would remain completely unharmed.

Breakdown Of The Vaporizer’s Features

  • Concentrates Cap: Integrated stainless steel wax tool with two placement settings
    • Magnetic, anodized aluminum carb cap with dual ceramic airflow insert
    • I loved that the tool can easily screw into the side of the cap and you can turn it to maximize airflow. No more desperately trying to multitask by spinning your dab tool in a circle while torching your rig.
  • Concentrates Tank: Full Quartz chamber with custom-stamped stainless-steel heating element
    • 5 temperature settings between 482℉/250℃ to 842℉/450℃
    • Heat-up time between 15 and 45 seconds; no exposed coil
    • The temperature setting is an unreal highlight of this vaporization tool. Five different colors, ranging from blue at the coolest to red at the hottest, showcase your desired heat level. While I would have liked for the battery to have a screen depicting its temperature, memorizing the colors and their corresponding temperatures was fairly easy and made for a cool aesthetic.
  • Housing: Made from durable and lightweight die-cast aluminum
    • Modular fitting for all sizes, male & female glass adapters
  • Glass Adapter: Kit includes 14mm male ground-glass adapter
    • 10mm and 18mm adapters are available for purchase separately
    • This adapter fits into any regular-sized water-piece. I used it for my 16-inch water pipe and it slid in comfortably but also was very secure. It is important to make sure what diameter the fitting is for your piece so you can order the matching adapter with the Tyson 2.0 if needed.
  • Cable: Braided power cable with easy, snap-in magnetic connections
    • Although the cable is arguably the most generic component of this vaporizer, it should be noted that this cord is of the utmost quality. It is thick and protected from anything cutting or damaging the connection. Additionally, the magnets on each end work extremely well with their counterparts, snapping in seamlessly but not too overbearingly strong to disconnect.
  • Battery: 6,000mAh lithium-ion rechargeable battery
  • 3-button operation with LED indicators
  • High-speed USB-C charging up to 3A with pass-through; approximately 2 hours for a full charge
  • Durable, lightweight anodized aluminum casing
  • I am the farthest thing from an electrician or an electrochemistry professor. That being said, this battery is objectively the cream of its crop. The functions of each button can be learned almost instantly, and the charge power is magnificent.

Thoughts On The G Pen Hyer Dry Herb Tank Assembly (Sold Separately)

On a personal note, I am not too big on concentration. My smoking tolerance is pretty low, so sticking with nug (whether CBD or THC) is my go-to preference. Suppose you have a similar penchant for dry herbs over concentrate. In that case, I highly recommend purchasing the G Pen Hyer Dry Herb Tank Assembly with your Tyson-themed vaporizer.

$49.95 is a fair price for this mod, considering the top-notch, durable material it is made from and its ability to link to any water piece. Featuring a full ceramic chamber with 0.5g capacity and an anodized aluminum carb cap with integrated airflow, you will experience the silkiest draws, unparalleled flavor, and powerful effects of water-filtered dry herb vaporization.

My Experience Using The Tyson 2.0 x G Pen Hyer Vaporizer

After watching the tutorial video above, my girlfriend and I were fired up to take our debut hits from this vaporizer. We connected it to our water pipe, which rips semi-smooth, resulting in a decent amount of coughs. I was low-key a bit nervous, considering I had not smoked concentrates in over a year, and all my past sessions revolved around me coughing up a lung.

My nerves disintegrated in sync with my first hit on the yellow temperate setting (second hottest behind red at 753 °F). Despite blowing out a hefty cloud, I could barely feel pressure from the smoke; it was by far the smoothest dab I have ever taken. We took two each, an anomaly for me and my below-average tolerance.

As the tutorial mentions, clean the chamber (with a cu-tip) and packing tool post-session. I quickly organized my Tyson 2.0 setup for next time, put the new John Wick movie on my projector, and melted into my couch. It was hard not to smile while reminiscing about the Tyson 2.0 x G Pen Hyer Vaporizer and the fact that it one session with it has flipped my perception of smoking concentrate.

Raised in upstate New York, I was always a big fan of music but never really listened to electronic music. Within the first month of attending Florida State University and meeting some new friends, I was introduced to the rave scene. After seeing Ekali at my first show, I was instantly hooked. Since then, I have dived into every subgenre of electronic music, picked up DJing, and mixed for clubs and different entertainment events in Tallahassee. Once graduating with degrees in marketing and hospitality, I was hired for a sales position. However, I recently decided to leave my sales job to pursue my dream of working in the music industry. Currently, I run Magnetic Magazine's Melodic Techno Charts, along with my role as a PR and marketing specialist for different artists and labels. Some of my favorite artists are REZZ, Kyle Watson, TOBEHONEST, San Pacho, Josh Baker, HUGEL, ARTBAT, Vintage Culture, Ganja White Night, CamelPhat, Green Velvet, Jungle, Milky Chance, Paco Versailles, Franc Moody, and RÜFUS DU SOL. My favorite festivals are Hulaween (by far), EDC Orlando, and all the different venues during Miami Music Week. Outside of music, I love sports (especially hockey, soccer, tennis, basketball, and spike ball), going to the movies, working out, sushi, Chick-fil-A, food in general, and hanging with my dog Maui and my cat Loki. Feel free to reach out to me via my email or on IG, I love expanding my network of friends and business opportunities!
