As we delve into this comprehensive review, we’ll explore its groundbreaking features, assess its performance, and determine if it lives up to the hype surrounding it. Buckle up, and let’s dive into the world of the COOLIFY 3.

What Is The Torras Coolify 3?

The TORRAS COOLIFY 3 is a next-generation wearable neck air conditioner designed for maximum comfort and efficiency. Employing advanced TORRAS Coology technology, this device guarantees an immersive 360° cooling effect, spanning from the head neck and extending to the back. Its innovative semiconductor cooling plates and multi-directional air outlets promise an immediate drop in temperature upon use.

Its powerful 6000mAh battery ensures longevity, with the potential to cool for up to 13 hours on a single charge. More than just cooling, the COOLIFY 3 is versatile, featuring heat and fan modes as well, making it suitable for a range of environments. For those who desire a tailored cooling experience, the device seamlessly integrates with the TORRAS app, allowing for personal customization and real-time adjustments. This ergonomic air conditioner, designed to fit any neck, is set to be an essential companion for those on the move.

But with the technical jargon out of the way, let’s dive into the fun part of the review and what we dug and didn’t…

The Good & The Bad Of The Torras Coolify 3

Its Cooling Coverage

The biggest draw to this wearable air conditioner device is just how comprehensive its cooling power is. Where most neck fans and other devices have either one zone at the back of the neck or two zones on either side to blow up on your cheeks, the three cooling zones provide ample coverage around your entire neck, and it leaves no stone unturned when it comes to keeping your head cold.

This, we think, is the real X-Factor of the device overall and allows this wearable air conditioner to keep you far cooler, even in the warmest of weather, than almost any other device on the market that we’ve tested.

The device is made from a rigid material that struggles to form to your neck ideally (this is most evident in the largest of the zones, the rear, which doesn’t make complete contact with the nape of our neck). We would have loved to have a softer silicon or other material that forms the region a bit better, but even still, you get a TON of coverage that stays with you even while you’re running or doing any variety of active movement.

Its Battery

Out of the box, the Coolify 3 boasts an impressive battery life of 13 hours, but it doesn’t quite live up to that promise. Using it on its average settings during one of the warmer stretches of Oregon’s summer this year, we found it was at its best for a 4-5 hours stretch before it started to fade. So, while it doesn’t get the total 13 hours of promised battery life, it still gets enough mileage out of its power to keep it going through any stretch of a day’s outdoor activity.

Suppose you go into your experience thinking it will single-handedly fix the poor sleep you’re getting in the sweltering Arizona nighttime. You’ll probably be disappointed in that case, but that’s not what it’s designed for. After multiple long weekends of heavy use, this thing kept up with what we were doing and when we needed to use it, and the protective carrying case kept it safe whenever it wasn’t on our neck.

It’s Snug

The problem with so many of these portable cooling devices is that they’re clunky, and rightfully so. These things need to pack powerful fans and intense tech into something wearable and convenient, and that’s tough to pull off.

And while the Coolify 3 is far from featherlight, it does pull off what few of its competitors can: it’s snug and doesn’t feel like it’s going anywhere when it’s around your neck and doesn’t require too much reconfiguring when you’re using it on the run or more strenuous hikes.

It’s Not Just For Summer

So many of these devices are one-trick ponies, failing to do anything other than excellent you off when it’s warm out (and even that isn’t a guarantee on many of them). But the Coolify 3 has both heat and cooling options, meaning it’s great for summertime hikes and adventures just as much as it’s a handy tool to throw on under your snowboard helmet for the colder months of the year.

This is a good thing because the relatively steep price point of the Coolify 3 ($300 at the time of writing this article) would be a turnoff if it were only something you would reach for 1/4 of the year. But the fact that it can be used in the colder months just as much as the warmer ones means it’s an excellent quality-of-life device that makes it far easier to justify.

It’s Got An App…

We’ll keep this one short and sweet because we know this wouldn’t phase many users and potential buyers, but…

Something about this new wave of devices requiring an app to get the most out of them is a bit offputting. Sure, it’s a smaller app that won’t clog up storage. Still, it does make for another hurdle to jump through, another email you need to submit and receive newsletters from, and another barrier of entry you need to surmount for a device specifically designed for being on the move.

Again, this is far from a dealbreaker for many, but being somebody who reviews a fair amount of tech and has been seeing this trend becoming more and more frequent, we had to voice our hot takes on the matter.

Final Thoughts

In summary, the TORRAS COOLIFY 3 is not just another wearable device. From its 360° cooling capabilities to the snug fit ensuring maximum comfort during movement, it demonstrates a harmonious blend of function and design. Its comprehensive cooling zones set it leagues apart from its contemporaries, delivering an experience rather than just a momentary relief. Yet, like any product, it has its pros and cons. The battery life may not live up to the ambitious 13-hour promise, but it still offers a commendable duration for most activities. Its dual-mode adaptability from summer to winter also speaks volumes of its utility.

The TORRAS COOLIFY 3, with its $300 price point, seems like a significant investment. However, given its year-round functionality, it can be an invaluable addition to any adventurer or tech enthusiast’s arsenal. The introduction of an app might be seen as a double-edged sword—a testament to its high-tech nature, yet perhaps an added layer of complexity for the more traditional users.

All in all, while no product is without its flaws, the COOLIFY 3 has been crafted with user experience at its heart, and it’s evident in its performance, versatility, and innovative features.
