Electronic music powerhouse Dirtyphonics, from the minds of Charly Barranger and Julien ‘Pitchin’ Corrales, is back with a sonic storm that’s set to shake the music scene to its core. Their latest single, “Burbank Nights,” is a relentless fusion of heavy metal and drum & bass, out on Monstercat Uncaged.
Speaking on the inspiration behind the track, Dirtyphonics states, “This track was written in Burbank, a historic city for rock and metal in California, next to North Hollywood. It is about the palpable energy in that city and the iconic bands that formed there. Many legendary albums have been written and recorded there, so we wanted to pay homage to this musical history. We used this vibe to make a banger merging Rock and Drum & Bass.”

From the opening notes, “Burbank Nights” draws in listeners by incorporating Dirtyphonics’ passion for skateboarding and heavy metal. The track begins with skateboarding samples as high-pitched guitar feedback enters the fray, building the anticipation.
Then, like an earsplitting stampede, “Burbank Nights” charges into a sequence of heavy metal and intense vocals. Following this progression, the track shockingly transitions into a gripping drum & bass banger, shaped with guitars and the raw energy that Dirtyphonics is celebrated for.
The result is an anthem that showcases Dirtyphonics’ pure creativity and dedication to challenging the norm. By pulling on inspiration from the metal bands that influenced them as teenagers, Dirtyphonics strengthens the bridge between rock and electronic music.
