With his relentless creativity, Thomas Xavier, the rising star in electronic music, has been making waves in 2023. His latest venture, the 14-track album Pharaoh’s Alchemist, marks a significant milestone in his career, showcasing his diverse musical prowess.
Released under his imprint, Pharaoh Phonix, the album aligns perfectly with his artistic vision of “rediscovering our ancient past through song and dance.” It is a project over a year, with Xavier dropping 12 of its 14 monthly tracks since September 2022 in a waterfall format.

Diving into the album’s sound, it is clear that Xavier is exploring various styles, including bass house, g-house, and tech house. The diversity of his musical repertoire shines through, with the album already amassing over a million streams and 1000+ downloads, along with four songs surpassing 100,000 streams.
Two standout tracks from the album deserve special mention. “Monsta” boasts a massive sound design and a catchy hip-hop-inspired vocal hook, making it a prime choice for peak-hour club and festival sets. Meanwhile, “Be Like VR” introduces Xavier’s bass music project, Khuphu, with an intense dubstep banger featuring powerful UK Grime vocals, hinting at more exciting releases to come from Khuphu in the dubstep, trap, and drum & bass genres.
Xavier’s influence in the burgeoning bass house scene in the Midwest U.S. has been undeniable. Over the past 18 months, he’s directly supported over 30 nationally touring house acts, sharing the stage with renowned artists like Ghastly, Nostalgix, Moksi, SNBRN, and more. Pharaoh Phonix, founded in January 2022, has been a success story, signing 20 artists and releasing 53 songs before the album’s launch. The label has accumulated over 3,000,000 streams and 3,000 downloads, significantly impacting dance floors worldwide.
As incredible as Pharaoh’s Alchemist is, the LP is an exciting preview of what’s to come. With big bookings and releases on the horizon, Xavier is undoubtedly an artist to keep a close eye on as we venture further into 2023.
