Parisian duo and all-round creative force Superparka, make a compelling return with their eagerly awaited album “quatro”. This genre-blurring 9-track project seamlessly navigates the realms of indie, lo-fi hip-hop, electronica and psychedelic groove. Drawing inspiration from video game soundtracks, Superparka creates a mesmerising sonic landscape.

The lead track, “camila”, introduces us to their chill hip-hop world with pulsing synths and signature groovy drums. Throughout the album, their production prowess shines, incorporating dreamy vocals, electric pianos, ethereal synths (“az”), warm synth chords (“wandering”), and delayed electric guitars (“lavender”). The previously released “razzz” combines catchy electric guitar melodies, layered vocals and a groovy bassline.

“easy” stands out with its powerful tom-driven groove, reminiscent of iconic Akira soundtracks, delivering a message of liberation. “quatro” and “(reprise)” create an almost hallucinogenic atmosphere with heavy effects on guitars and drums.

Superparka’s “quatro” showcases their experimental spirit, touching on themes of modern isolation and the randomness of the universe. Collaborations with visual artist Lulu Lin and director Pablo Padovani bring a surreal futuristic western aesthetic to life. Check this one out for those, chilled hazy afternoons. Seriously blissful Lo-Fi production
