Sharing his new EP “Take Time” – Con Cook returns with a genre-blending journey through UK Hip Hop, Garage, and breaks that showcases the raw talent and honest expression of this East London-based artist. At just 23 years old, Cook brings a mature perspective to his music, drawing inspiration from the underground dance and rap scenes of London.
The EP kicks off with the infectious energy of “Take Time,” a UK-Garage infused track that sets the tone for what’s to come. From there, Cook navigates through emotional depths with tracks like “onthefone,” before delivering a summer anthem with “Blackwharf Bounce.”
What sets this project apart is Cook’s commitment to authenticity. In his own words, the EP serves as a sonic reflection of the past eight months of his life—I’m nothing without those around me. The music is influenced not only by what I’ve been listening to, but by the people I’ve connected and worked with in that period as well. I think this project is quite a personal timestamp for me. It speaks both lyrically and sonically on where I am at the moment. I’m working hard. I’m embracing a lot of change and ultimately I’m still figuring everything out. It’s imperfect, and I like that about it.”
Cook’s lyrics are deeply personal, offering listeners a glimpse into his journey of self-discovery and resilience.
Throughout the EP, Cook’s lyrical flow is complemented by distinctive production that seamlessly blends broken beats and two-step rhythms. The result is a collection of tracks that are as dancefloor-ready as they are introspective.
