After months and months and months (five to be exact) of wondering  if I’ll ever get to see the LCD Soundsystem documentary Shut Up and Play the Hitsmy question is answered. Yes, if I get my ass to the ArcLight Hollywood theater on July 18th as the release really isn’t a proper release, but rather a “one-night-only engagement.”  See full listing below. If your city didn’t make the cut you can go here to bitch about it. If enough people do so, perhaps they’ll buckle and come to a city near you.

For a really lucky someone out there, The Creators Project is hosting a contest to win a trip to the New York premiere which includes round trip airfare for you and a guest, 2 nights at the Ace Hotel, plus a meet and greet with Mr. Murphy himself. There's some other good stuff too. Pretty freaking awesome! Full details here.

Adam Yauch on Shut Up and Play the Hits:

It can be pretty clear when a band starts, but perhaps less so when it ends, or how it should end. In that sense, its brilliant of James [Murphy] to end it in such a definitive way.
